The protection of your personal data is particularly important to us. Below, we inform you about the processing of personal data when using the TalkSight app and this website.

2. Audio Recording

TalkSight records conversations using your iPhone's microphone. The audio recording is stored locally on your device. Microphone permission is explicitly requested before the first recording and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

3. AI-Powered Analysis

For analysis, audio is sent encrypted via our Firebase Cloud Functions (EU, europe-west1) to Google Gemini (USA). The AI creates a transcript as well as speaker detection, talk/listen balance, interruptions, emotional signals, and a communication profile. This only happens with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you grant during onboarding and can revoke at any time in the app settings.

4. Data Processing During Analysis

Audio data is deleted from the server immediately after processing (within a few minutes at most). No permanent cloud storage takes place. Analysis results are stored exclusively on your device.

5. Recipients and Third-Country Transfers

The following recipients process data on your behalf:

  • Google LLC (USA) Gemini API for AI analysis, Firebase Cloud Functions (EU, europe-west1) and Firestore for trial tracking. Safeguard: EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Google's Data Processing Addendum.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) Subscription management with anonymized user ID. Safeguard: EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • TelemetryDeck GmbH (Deutschland) Anonymous usage statistics. No third-country transfer.

Data processing agreements (DPAs) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with all processors.

6. Legal Basis

  • AI Analysis (audio, transcript): Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
  • Subscription management (RevenueCat): Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Trial tracking (Firestore): Legitimate interest in abuse prevention (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck): Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

7. Data Retention

  • Audio files: Stored locally on your device until you delete them
  • AI Analysis (Google Gemini): Audio is deleted immediately after processing (max. a few minutes)
  • Analysis results: Stored locally on your device until you delete them
  • Trial usage data (Firestore): Anonymous device ID and counter, automatically deleted after 180 days
  • Subscription data (RevenueCat): Per RevenueCat policies, anonymized ID
  • Usage statistics (TelemetryDeck): Anonymized, no personal data

8. In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) to manage subscriptions and one-time purchases. RevenueCat processes anonymized purchase data and device IDs to provide purchase and subscription functionality. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

9. Analytics and Telemetry (TelemetryDeck)

We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage statistics. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant analytics service based in Germany. No personal data or IP addresses are stored.

10. Data Storage

All conversation data (audio, transcriptions, analyses) is stored exclusively on your device (SwiftData). Sensitive data is kept in the iOS Keychain. You can delete all data at any time through the app.

11. No Tracking

TalkSight does not use advertising trackers, App Tracking Transparency (ATT), or personalized ads. No data is shared with advertising networks.

12. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to: access your stored data (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21). You can revoke your AI consent at any time in the app settings (Art. 7(3)). Since most data is stored exclusively on your device, you can delete it yourself at any time.

13. Supervisory Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:
